• With the support of the Ministry of National Education and contribution of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Istanbul Aydın University, Turkish Anti-Smoking Association (TSSD) organized a short film competition titled “Smoke-free Stories”, which was open to students from highschools and their equivalents in all over Turkey and aiming at encouraging and popularizing a smoke-free life.




Turkish Anti-Smoking Association (TSSD), a civil society organization that aims to protect humanity against smoking which is one of the major challenges that humanity encounters today, severly threatenening human life and health, and fight against this enemy of humanity and all the instances that protects it, organized a short film competition.

The deadline for application to “Smoke-free Stories” short film competition among highschools organized by TSSD was April 1st, and the award winning works and artists were announced at TSSD website in April 23, 2017. Competition final and award ceremony will take place at Metropolitan Municipality Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall, in May 4, 2017.

Smoke-free Stories Competiton Jury examined the short film applications between April 1-22, 2017, at Florya Campus of Istanbul Aydın University and decided award winning candidates in directing, screenplay and cinematography categories.

Beste Deniz, student at Çorlu Anatolian High School, won the Directing Education Award with the film “Ağu” (Poison), Ali Emre Yazıcı, student at Kartal Mehmet Akif Ersoy Anatolian Imam Hatip High School won the Screenplay Education Award with the film “Meret” (Demon) and Berat Yüksel, student at İMMİB Erkan Avcı Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School won Director of Cinematogprahy Education Award with the film “O’an” (That Moment).
