Prof. Dr. Erdöl warned us that the use of cigarette is on the rise again and said, “Cigarette use was down to 27% but now it’s on it’s climbing to 32%. Administrators unfortunately are covering up the violation of the law with their own initiative”.
Prof. Dr. Cevdet Erdöl, the Rector of the University of Health Sciences, is one of the names who make the most effort for smoke-free airspace. Prof. Dr. Erdöl, who pioneered the implementation of the ban on smoking in the closed area during the period he was AK Parti Parliament Member, made important statements to Milliyet.
Prof. Dr. Erdöl talked about the details of the unknown struggle against the ban on smoking and the games of cigarette cartels; “Smoking kills more than 100,000 people every year. Poison is poison. Be it foreign or native. Hookah or cigarette, doesn’t matter what form they are in, they are all poison. We lose 300 people every day because of these poisons. There are innocent children among these people. Smoking is the most lethal weapon of mass destruction. This struggle is human duty”.
