On December 30, 2020, the Turkish Association for the Fight Against Smoking (TSSD) hosted a webinar titled “The Harmful Effects of Cigarettes on Immunity.” The session was moderated by TSSD Board Member Ms. Zeliha Sunal and featured Prof. Dr. Tunç Akkoç, a faculty member at Marmara University, as the guest speaker.

In the seminar, Prof. Dr. Akkoç provided an in-depth analysis of how smoking adversely affects the immune system. The discussion covered how smoking weakens the immune response and increases vulnerability to infections.
