The Turkiye Anti-Smoking Association (TSSD), founded on April 22, 1999, is one of the most important non-governmental organizations in Turkiye. Our association is among the top three non-governmental organizations in the public opinion surveys conducted in our country in the last decade, setting an example with its commitment to social issues.
As a result of its effective work on this issue, the Turkiye Anti-Smoking Association was awarded the United Nations World Health Organization’s 2002 European Award for the Most Successful Non-Governmental Organization in the Fight Against Smoking.
For 20 years, the main goal of these intensive efforts has been to raise awareness of all people, especially children and young people, to prevent young people from meeting cigarettes and to effectively inform the public against attempts to encourage tobacco use.
The Turkiye Anti-Smoking Association, which has undertaken important initiatives towards a solution in order to rid the whole humanity of the smoking epidemic, has organized numerous events to introduce the real face of tobacco and tobacco products, and one of the most important results of these pioneering efforts has been the adoption of the “Law on the Prevention of Harms of Tobacco Products” numbered 4207.
Under the leadership of the President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, with its Board of Directors, Executive Board and more than 200 members and volunteers, the Turkiye Anti-Smoking Association will continue to work tirelessly and tirelessly until the last molecule of tobacco products is destroyed, knowing that there is still a long way to go until our society, especially our youth, is completely free from the disease of smoking.
